How can I divert calls from one SIM to another SIM?

Diverting calls from one SIM to another is easy

One of the most common questions we get asked at BenkoPhone is about how businesses can forward calls from one phone to another. Most often this is for after hours or when the person who manages the “business mobile” is out of the office.

The thing is that forwarding the call is only part of the problem. How do you return the call without it coming from another number than the one they called in the first place? How do you update where the calls divert to remotely? How do you forward text messages (spoiler alert – you can’t).

With BenkoPhone you can easily forward numbers and messages to any phone and then return those calls and messages without giving away your own private number… but we will expand on that below.

First of all you can just do normal call forwarding from the phone’s menu.

Call forwarding on iPhone:

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap “Phone.”
  • Tap “Call Forwarding”.
  • Swipe button to right to activate call forwarding.
  • Tap “Forward To.”
  • Put in the phone number to forward calls to.
  • Tap the back button to save your changes.

Call forwarding on Android:

  • Go to Phone.
  • Tap Action Overflow icon (on some phones, touch the Menu icon instead to see a list of commands).
  • Tap Settings (sometims Call Settings).
  • Tap Call Forwarding.
  • Set the forwarding number. .
  • Touch Enable or OK.

Pretty straight forward, but there are a tonne of problems when trying to use this for business. If someone calls a number and then it is forwarded to your phone, how do you then return their call without giving away your phone number? You can always hide your caller ID but you are a business, hiding from your customers seems a little counter-productive!

Also – this doesn’t work for text messages so if someone is messaging the work phone then you need to check the messages online or get someone to find the other phone and then they will need to reply to the message in order for the phone you have not to show up. God, typing that sentence gave me a headache. It doesn’t have to be this hard.

BenkoPhone has come up with a solution that will remove the need for complex webs of forwarding calls around all over the place or using the approach of having one dedicated mobile that requires constant babysitting. With BenkoPhone you can easily forward numbers and messages to any phone and then return those calls and messages without giving away your own private number. The messages and calls can all be managed and replied to online as well, allowing for collaboration from a number of staff to make sure that nothing falls through the cracks.
